Why Should I Start To Work Out – All The Benefits I Can Get

Have you ever thought about why do you workout? Why exactly are you going to the gym? I am sure we all got a goal, something to reach. And we all should: whether it be that we want a better body, be in better condition, stay healthy. Those are all valid reasons. And for those that still aren’t there, ask yourself: why should I start to work out? What benefits will I have from it?hardest lift is lifting your butt

We are all aware of the fact that a sedentary lifestyle doesn’t bring us any good. Besides the fact that we are losing muscles, we are also shortening our life.

Because not only our health will suffer, eventually, our thoughts will go where we don’t want them to go. The thoughts about not being good enough. And once there, it takes an enormous amount of work, both physical and mental, to get out of there.

Benefits

For the sake of understanding the importance of workout, of staying in shape, being healthy, let us go over some of the most important and well-known benefits we all can get from working out:

  • Benefits every part of the body, including our mind – Exercising causes the body to make chemical reactions that can help us to feel good. It will also benefit us with better sleep. Plus, when we workout, and achieve our target goal, it will make us feel good and we will have a real sense of accomplishment.
  • Helps us to lose weight, look better – No science fiction here: burn more calories than you take in and you will lose weight. One of the best ways to do that are HIIT training and a combination of cardio workouts.
  • Lower risk for some diseases – while we are working out, we raise our immune system. Also, with proper nutrition intake and perhaps some supplements, our health will be significantly better.

Now, those are just a few, there are a lot more. But what I am trying to show you is that there is no downside here (taking that you follow simple rules when working out). The only thing that you will be getting is the health and being self-satisfied. So let’s go over them, shall we?

Health

While we are working out, we are maintaining our weight. Because the calories that we take into our body are stored into energy. And if we don’t spend that energy, it will transfer to fat. And that will lead us to obesity and lots of complications (such as stroke, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, depression, anxiety).

Being active while doing our daily workout routine will prevent that. Good cholesterol will rise up, our body will get more oxygen, our mood will be better, we will have better sleep, energy level will be higher. Do you see how many good things can get just from doing our routine? Do not throw that away! no excuses

Take some time from your day and devote that for yourself. I’m not talking about going to the gym for 3 or 4 hours every day. No, I am talking about 20 to 30 minutes per day. As little as that. It doesn’t have to be more. You start with simple exercise and work on that. But it HAS TO BE REGULAR!

Don’t skip your workout just because you don’t feel like working out, or you are tired. Make it fun and challenging for you: if you don’t feel doing push-ups or abs today, change your workout.

Grab a rope and do rope jumps. Get out and go for 30 minutes fast walk. Your brain will get the oxygen you will feel a lot better. Do what makes you happy! Trust me, once you take that step and start exercising, you WILL feel better and later on you WILL be happy you make that choice!

Satisfaction

How can I be satisfied when I still look like this? When I can’t make 10 or 20 abs, or push-ups?excuses

Have you ever thought about this that way? I don’t know about you, but I have. I was there. At one point in my life, I gained almost 30 kilograms! 30! And I am not talking about 10 years period. I am talking about a year and a half or two!

Yes, I could make excuses like: I had a health condition. Which is true, I did. I was laying in hospital on intensive care for a few weeks and then for another few weeks, I stayed in a hospital for observation.

But I did not want that to be my excuse. I stopped. I stopped working out and was enjoying my life, being happy I was alive. And what did I get? Extra weight. Before I knew it, my clothes weren’t fitting anymore.

I then start to work out, but I was lacking motivation. I had no REAL reason to get myself in shape! Until I start to have problems bending down to tie my shoes. That is when I said to myself: ENOUGH!

And I did it. I manage to control my weight. I lost a few kilograms, but my body CHANGED! I gained muscles and lose fat! That is what motivation and habbitI wanted. Not to return on my previous weight. I could do that also, but I wanted to transform my body!

And I did! And I felt good. I still am. Each time I look at myself I am happy. Yes, there is still work to do. BUT I AM SATISFIED WITH RESULTS!

And it didn’t happen overnight! I worked for months! Not only I was working out, but I started to play football also (which ironically lead to serious injury, but that is not the point). I was doing what I could to turn my body and my thoughts in another direction.

And now I can say it paid off. But no means I want to stay there. No! I have to maintain my workout! And so do you! Keep pushing yourself because if you don’t, no one will! Once you get there where you want, and you see results, you will be happy, your motivation will rise, you WILL know that you CAN change your body, health, life to better!

Rome wasn’t built in a day! Don’t expect you will get where you want without sweating and in a month! It will take hard work and dedicated a workout to achieve what you planned. But once you get close to it, once you start seeing results, I can guarantee you, you will not want to stop!

only you can stop you

So, Are You Still Thinking?

Are you still asking yourself should you start to work out? No, you shouldn’t be. We went through benefits and all the pros you get with your daily workout routine! Get up and start your exercise. Make a plan and stick to it! If you don’t start now, most likely is you won’t start tomorrow or even the day after!

  1. There are all kinds of reasons to workout, but I’ve long said to build and maintain overall good health is the greatest goal of them all. Sure, strength gain, muscle gain, fat loss, and others are nice, but to embark on a journey that will improve your physical (and mental) health, it should be all the reason we need.

I’ve always recommended starting small, and changing one thing each week. Maybe walk for a half-hour, three days a week to start, before evolving to something a little more complex and continue the process day by day, week by week.

    1. Hi Todd,
      thank you for your comment.

I agree with the fact that overall health should be a greater goal, and it could be the ONLY goal we need actually.

As well, starting small is the best approach to start. A lot of people start strong and get discouraged or they are unable to keep up with such pace. Setting reasonable goals is a way to move forward!

      Best wishes,
